The beautifully composed city of Chennai witnessed an extravagant gathering of art lovers at the  Hues of Watercolor 11th edition of under the expert guidance of renowned artist Shri Sadhu Aliyur.

The name watercolor speaks the importance of water in the watercolor paintings. The use of water determines the movement, more the usage of water more is the movement you get. Water is used for diluting and moistening the color all set for your watercolor wash. The higher the ratio of the pigment of water, the darker the color you get and vice-versa. The usage of water plays a crucial role in the final outcome of your painting.

Day 1

Hues of watercolor 11th edition was inaugurated by Shri Sadhu Aliyur in Chennai. After the warm welcome and the introductory speech, the painting workshop in Chennai began with the exquisite landscape watercolor demo by Sadhu Aliyur to understand the usage of color, ways of handling the brush and watercolor wash creating beautiful art pieces.

Sketching plays a very important role in art as it helps in defining the values of an object, it is a technique which is used to define the objects in the initial stages which are further developed into art pieces.

The first day of the painting workshop in Chennai was composed of learning the basics of sketching, the rules to follow and learning the right techniques, followed by demos by the expert and practice by the participants simultaneously.

Day 2

The second day of Hues of watercolor 11th edition gave rise to the learning of color theory which included the learning of color mixing, the importance of perspective and the right usage of the same while creating a composition.

Artists are color lovers and are brilliant at using them and thus they don’t require too many colors to bring out their emotions and imaginations. They are talented enough to portray their emotions excellently through a single color called monochromatic composition. The participants were enlightened with the monochromatic composition, techniques of creating the right depth and contrast using the right amount of color, water etc. They were also made aware of the minimal palette composition, the observation required and flow.

The participants were overwhelmed by the support and learning they were able to grasp from the painting workshop in Chennai.

Day 3

The third day of the Hues of Water Color of the 11th edition took a deviation towards Nageshwara Rao Park in Mylapore, Chennai. The participants were excited to witness the live outdoor demo by the renowned artist Shri Sadhu Aliyur. The first half of the day inspired our participants to observe, learn and paint their observations under the advice and guidance of the experienced.

The second half was enlightened with the layout making, its importance for a good composition and the rules to be followed. The participants found the painting workshop in Chennai productive as it helped them to acknowledge the importance and rules applied while sketching and watercolor painting within a limited span of 3 days. Along with the learning, they were able to solve the quires they faced by interacting with the artist Shri Sadhu Aliyur.
